The Greyhound Trust Sheffield

The Greyhound Trust Sheffield is a local branch of the national charity, Greyhound Trust, with the aim of providing fully vetted and loving homes for as many retired Greyhounds as possible, so that these beautiful animals can continue to live a full and enjoyable life at the end of their racing careers.

The Sheffield branch of the GT operates from Rotherham Gate Lodge in Wortley under the chairmanship of the stadium’s Director, Matthew Hamilton. The charity is funded by the stadium, together with fundraising events and donations from our customers.

Since the charity opened in 2006, more than 1,700 retired Greyhounds have been found new homes. Contrary to popular belief, Greyhounds do not require much exercise – just a couple of 15 minute walks per day, and like nothing better than to relax at home.

If you’re interested in adopting a Greyhound or finding out how you can help support the GT, please contact us by email or visit the website for details.

If you think that you would be able to help us give a dog a home, or would like to volunteer your services, please call 0114 288 8300.

Thank you for your support
